Precepts Renewal Ceremony
Click the event for details and registration. Our events begin precisely on time, and doors will be locked five minutes before the event begins in order to foster an environment of supportive silence in the zendo (practice hall). Please plan to arrive at least ten minutes before the stated start time. Parking can be challenging in our neighborhood, so allow extra time for finding a parking space and walking to the center. Our daily sittings do not require advance registration, but do register in advance for special events such as introductory seminars, all-day sittings, workshops, and classes.

Precepts Renewal Ceremony
December 1 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Two 25-minute rounds of zazen followed by a ceremony for the renewal of the Sixteen Bodhisattva Precepts. This is an in-person event that will also be streamed on Zoom.
The sixteen bodhisattva precepts are a set of vows for ethical conduct. The precepts are inexhaustible mindfulness practices that form the guiding principles for our daily conduct in the world. Participating in the Precept Renewal Ceremony is both for those taking the precepts for the first time, and for those renewing their commitment in a deeply relevant way. We are each invited to quietly reflect upon all our past actions for good and ill, to renew the precepts, and to dedicate ourselves to the practice and path of the bodhisattva.
