In March 2022, the Zen Center of Denver (ZCD) became an affiliated group of Zen Peacemakers International.
The mission of the Zen Peacemakers is to support, inspire, train, and mobilize people in humanitarian, peace-building, social, and civic action. As a Zen Peacemakers Affiliate, ZCD grounds its volunteer activities in the Three Tenets—Not Knowing, Bearing Witness, and Taking Action. We also integrate the Way of Council and other forms of practice to embody engaged Buddhism in the Denver Metro area and beyond.
ZCD Social Outreach Activities
- Prison Dharma – Leading services through the prison chaplaincy program at Englewood Federal Correctional Institution.
- Metro Caring Food Bank – Partnering with Metro Caring to provide nutritious food while also addressing the root causes of hunger.
- Samaritan House Shelter – Serving meals to those in need through Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Denver.
