After nearly coming to an end, we are happy to announce that the Zen Center of Denver Recovery Group will continue offering ongoing support for those seeking healing and recovery through our weekly gatherings.

For the past seven years, since the group’s founding, Bill Wright has lovingly facilitated and nurtured this community. He is now “passing the flame” to assistant teacher Bill Hamaker, whose own journey of recovery has been supported through participation in the Recovery Group.

Together, participants in the Recovery Group will continue to cultivate a welcoming and compassionate space where people can bring not only the challenges of substance addiction, but also the difficulties associated with eating disorders, caffeine addiction, pornography addiction, grief, anxiety, depression, anger, divorce, suicide, and the many other forms of human suffering and trauma we encounter in our lives.

Beginning Monday, August 17, 2026 our meeting night will shift from Wednesday to Monday evenings. Each meeting includes 25 minutes of meditation followed by a group discussion focused on supporting recovery from drugs and alcohol. Please note that this is not an AA meeting. Everyone is welcome, wherever they are on their path of healing and recovery.
