Click the event for details and registration. Our events begin precisely on time, and doors will be locked five minutes before the event begins in order to foster an environment of supportive silence in the zendo (practice hall). Please plan to arrive at least ten minutes before the stated start time. Parking can be challenging in our neighborhood, so allow extra time for finding a parking space and walking to the center. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes—dark, quiet colors are best. Out of care for those with allergies, please avoid perfume or scented products.
Our daily sittings do not require registration, but do register in advance for special events such as beginners’ nights, introductory seminars, all-day sittings, workshops, and classes.
If you have signed up but need to cancel on short notice, please call the office and leave a message.
Gentle Yoga
October 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Gentle Yoga is a slow-paced, low-intensity practice that integrates fluid movements with breath, to stretch muscles, mobilize joints and calm the mind. Posture cues are invitational and offer incremental options to support each individual’s needs and sense of agency. The practice supports students in all seasons and experiences of life and across all levels of flexibility, balance and strength. It is ideal for beginners, older adults, those recovering from injury or trauma or as a complement to sitting mediation.
Key Benefits: reduces stress, calms the nervous system, improves flexibility, enhances range of motion, improves sleep, builds awareness and sense of agency.
Gentle Yoga classes are held on a drop-in basis on Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:00pm. Members and nonmembers are welcome. Join us for one class or come every week. Donations of $10 to Zen Center of Denver are appreciated and may be made with cash, PayPal or Venmo. Please bring a yoga mat.
