Our events begin precisely on time, and doors will be locked five minutes before the event begins in order to foster an environment of supportive silence in the zendo (practice hall). Please plan to arrive at least ten minutes before the stated start time. Parking can be challenging in our neighborhood, so allow extra time for finding a parking space and walking to the center. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes—dark, quiet colors are best. Out of care for those with allergies, please avoid perfume or scented products.
Our daily sittings do not require registration, but do register in advance for special events such as beginners’ nights, introductory seminars, all-day sittings, workshops, and classes.

As such, and in alignment ZCD’s affiliation with Zen Peacemakers International, we regularly support the work at Metro Caring Food Bank by providing a crew of volunteers the third Thursday of every month. You are warmly invited to join our volunteers to assist in the warehouse with unpacking and sorting food, stocking shelves, or checking in/checking out customers. No prior training is required. Please use the Register button below to volunteer for this day.
We have a number of regular volunteers who know the ropes and the Metro Caring staff also do a good orientation for first-time volunteers. If this is your first time, ZCD Volunteer Coordinator David Gibson will contact you regarding parking instructions and a volunteer waiver form. We start with a brief Council Circle practice in the parking lot at 11:45 am before starting our shift at 12 noon. Our shift ends at 3:30.
