Spiritual Directors

Our Spiritual Directors are transmitted teachers in the Zen tradition who hold responsibility for the practice and welfare of their students and of the sangha as a whole. They are responsible for overseeing all practice and training matters and are chosen by, and report to the Board of Directors per our bylaws.

Board of Directors

The Center is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership. Board meetings are open to all members. Meetings of the entire membership are held at least twice a year for elections and general discussion of anything relating to the center. The fall meeting involves elections to the Board of Directors that requires a vote from a quorum of the membership. Suggestions, complaints, and observations will reach the Board of Directors by placing them in the donations box in the foyer at any time or contacting a member of the Board personally.

Head of the Zendo

This person assists in the overall running of spiritual matters of the temple, conducts applications for membership, oversees the new member mentoring program as well as ZCD teams and groups, and is a non-voting member of the Board of Directors. The Head of the Zendo is appointed by the spiritual directors.

Mountain Staff

Mountain Staff is a training program which offers members the opportunity to work together in leading meditation in the zendo and serve our community practice. This program is guided by our spiritual directors and assistant teachers. Anyone who has been a member for at least six months may apply to the program by speaking to the Head of Mountain Staff.
